The idea for a marketing collective of Westminster venues working together for one common aim was first mooted in 1995 between 3 of the present day members and 2 others. However, common agreement on how to go forward could not be found at that time and the idea was dropped.
At Confex in 2003, René Dee from the Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Centre and Lacy Curtis-Ward from The Conference Centre at Church House met and agreed to try again. Michael Sharp from Westminster Central Hall became the 3rd member and it grew from there.
TWC has two categories of members, Full Members and Associates. Full Members are those that relate to venues, hotels and attractions. Associates are supplier companies and organisations. This also provides an internal structure where B to B can take place amongst members as well as with external buyers.
Future
It is hoped that both categories of membership will grow substantially in the next 3 years and that the business community in Westminster will come to recognise TWC as a primary contact point for business opportunities.
