


The British Academy, established by Royal Charter in 1902, is a versatile venue and was once part of the residence for former Prime Minister, Gladstone, and The British Union. We have seven rooms from the Marks Room for 12, Reading room for 80 and up to 120 capacity when our Lecture hall and Council room are combined. We have a range of delicious catering that will suit your delegates during their meeting, product launch or conference. We can tailor make your catering for bespoke dining, just ask our Hospitality team for details.
Situated at 10 Carlton House Terrace, built in 1831, by John Nash, the venue is very centrally located, with the peace and tranquillity of St James’ Park on one side, just a short hop for the theatres on the other and close to all tube and main train lines.
The Academy, champions and supports the humanities and social sciences. It is an independent, self supporting fellowship of scholars elected for their distinction and achievement.
